Sitting by the Pool
I hear the shaking of trees close in proximity to me. It is a swishing sound that fills the air outside. I hear the sound of my talking that is at the same level as the trees. The talking has a flat bassy voice that stays constant. I splashing of a high pitch noise. I hear an eruption of high pitch noise laughter that could be mistaken as gurgle of liquid. I hear low pitch squick sound that is filled with bass, this is followed by a loud powerful boom. The area gets silent for a split second. I hear the flat bassy voice come back to prominence over a low rustling of trees.

Sound observations 1
Sitting in my Apartment
I hear low pitch rattling sound coming in on my right side. The sound is almost like a child's rattle. A quick high pitch hum cuts over the sound of the rattle. Now a low bass filled hum fills the space. I can hear the sounds of a soft wind blowing air. I hear the sound of a light flimsy material moving back and forth as its getting pushed around in the wind. The blowing of the wind stops abruptly. Now the sound of rattling is very prominent in the room. I hear the scrapping of rubber material muffed through a door. The sound gets louder as the rubber material gets closer to my door.

This was a very interesting read. In the article, they talk about how sound is linked to how we interpret images. I completely agree with that. I am taking a sound class right now, and the use of sound effects in a film to make you believe a certain action is taking place is amazing. Sound does so much to the image of film. As filmmakers, we have to utilize this tool to make the audience feel apart of the story we want to tell. Another point in the reading I thought was really interesting was that "Every sound has a space sound coloring". Your sound in a specific location or space adds the profile of the sound being made. Whether you are in a church with high arches or your church in a small room somewhere, your sound has a different coloring so to speak.
